Twenty-three year old Alexander Wang is pretty much the hottest new-comer to the catwalk industry. The ex-Teen Vogue Intern is a ladies designer with a tailored, clean-cut, but casual look. When you see his collection, there is no denying that he was definitely inspired by structured menswear; the tuxedo jackets, collared shirts and tailored trousers. His taste is: simple meets chic with a luxurious edge. His followers are likely to be the people who mimic the tastes of Ashley Olsen and Kirsten Dunst. With his nomination for the 2008 CFDA Swarovski Women’s Designer of the Year (the winner will be announced this month) and current holder of the Ecco Domani Emerging Designer Award (2008), it seemed fit that he should be recognised for his hard work and pure talent. EDIT: I can't quite believe that Alexander Wang missed out on the Swarovski Award for Womenswear, he deserved it.
